Revun is building a connected technology platform designed to modernize how property owners, property managers, brokerages, service providers, and real estate teams run their operations.
The platform brings CRM, leasing, maintenance, payments, accounting, communications, compliance, reporting, stakeholder portals, integrations, and AI-powered workflows into one operating system.
We are hiring a Head of Engineering to take full technical ownership of the platform and engineering organization.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who can evaluate an existing product, identify technical and security risks, challenge weak decisions, lead remote engineering resources, improve architecture, control technology costs, and move the platform toward a stable, scalable launch.
The successful candidate will own the technology from architecture through execution and help shape what Revun becomes as the platform grows.
Qualified candidates will receive an email shortly after applying with a link to complete a pre-recorded video interview.
Selected candidates will then be invited to continue through the executive interview process.
Own the overall technical direction, architecture, engineering execution, security, reliability, and launch readiness of the platform
Evaluate the existing technology stack, codebase, backend, frontend, database schema, APIs, integrations, AI workflows, infrastructure, CI/CD, and deployment process
Identify technical debt, architectural weaknesses, scalability risks, security gaps, incomplete workflows, development issues, and launch blockers
Build and manage the technical roadmap across backend, frontend, AI, integrations, DevOps, QA, security, and infrastructure
Lead and hold accountable remote engineering resources across backend, frontend, AI and automation, integrations, cloud infrastructure, QA, and security
Review and improve CRM architecture, workflow logic, pipelines, statuses, tasks, notifications, reporting, audit history, and automation rules
Ensure financial workflows are secure and reliable, including payments, rent collection, owner payouts, vendor payments, transaction records, reconciliation, audit trails, and permissions
Strengthen authentication, authorization, role-based access control, protected APIs, document access, least-privilege permissions, and audit logging
Ensure AI automation is properly designed, tested, monitored, privacy-conscious, cost-controlled, and connected to measurable business value
Improve third-party integration reliability through webhooks, queues, retries, rate-limit handling, logging, monitoring, and failed-sync recovery
Establish engineering standards for code review, sprint planning, documentation, automated testing, QA, CI/CD, deployment, incident response, and release controls
Evaluate the current engineering team and identify future hiring, restructuring, vendor, and leadership needs
Manage technology budgets covering developers, contractors, cloud infrastructure, AI and API usage, integrations, third-party tools, QA, security, and ongoing maintenance
Make build-versus-buy recommendations that balance speed, cost, reliability, security, product quality, and long-term scalability
Communicate technical risks, priorities, trade-offs, timelines, costs, and recommendations clearly to non-technical leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, AI/ML, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
10+ years of professional software engineering experience
5+ years in senior engineering leadership, such as CTO, Head of Engineering, VP of Engineering, Engineering Director, Software Architect, or senior Technical Lead
Proven experience leading, scaling, auditing, stabilizing, or rescuing complex SaaS platforms
Experience with CRM-style systems, marketplace platforms, fintech or payment systems, property or field-service platforms, or other multi-role operational software
Strong backend and systems architecture experience, including database design, APIs, authentication, authorization, RBAC, scalability, performance, security, and data integrity
Strong understanding of CRM architecture, workflow engines, custom fields, event history, audit logs, reporting structures, automation rules, and configurable business logic
Experience with financial workflows, including payments, payouts, transaction handling, idempotency, reconciliation, ledger logic, reporting, auditability, and financial data security
Experience with AI and LLM integrations, structured outputs, prompt and version control, RAG where appropriate, human review, evaluation testing, hallucination risk, privacy, and cost management
Experience designing reliable third-party integrations using APIs, webhooks, retries, queues, logging, monitoring, rate-limit handling, and failure recovery
Experience managing distributed or remote engineering teams across several technical disciplines
Experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, automated testing, deployment controls, incident response, backups, and launch readiness
Experience managing engineering budgets, developer resources, cloud costs, AI and API costs, technical vendors, and maintenance priorities
Ability to evaluate an existing platform objectively and decide what should be retained, improved, replaced, rebuilt, or purchased
Ability to explain complex technical issues in clear business terms to non-technical leadership
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, AI/ML, distributed systems, cybersecurity, software architecture, data engineering, or a related field
PropTech, property management software, brokerage technology, leasing platforms, maintenance platforms, field-service systems, fintech, compliance systems, or marketplace applications
Multi-tenant platforms supporting administrators, employees, owners, tenants, vendors, service providers, and external partners
